Dan awoke on the roadside, a pool of blood flowing from the back of his head and no recollection of how he got there or who he was. He was next to a beautiful white horse and he had a note carefully placed on his chest, the note read: "You are probably wondering where you are, who you are and why you are on the roadside next to a horse. First of all, welcome to Oregon! You are Dan Harlow, born in Manzanita Post. You may not know this, but you have made quite the enemy with people that are not to be trifled with. The horses name is Ashkii, if you can't remember, this horse has been with your family since you were a child. The chance of you living out in this baking heat are slim, so I suggest you hop on your horse and pray that you find civilisation. Reyes." Dan sat up and tried to get his bearings. He felt a sharp pain in his shoulder, a bullet wound. He touched the back of his head and felt a healing, weeping wound. He looked up at the horse and stood. He jumped on the horse, "Come on, Ashkii." He mumbled. The horse road for hours with the exhausted Dan on her back. They soon came across a small ranch with a barn, a store and a grand house on the outskirts. They road into town and Dan fell from Ashkii with exhaustion. Dan was taken in by [[Jerry Baines]] and nursed back to health.

==Personal Life==

Dan was a quiet, hard working youngster who could shoot a jackrabbit a mile away with his trusty bow. He met the beautiful [[Jodie Clayton]] in his time working on the farms, they have been together since. He is one hell of a fighter, due to being brought up with the Natives, and is a temp builder. Dan also works for the Marshall as a bounty hunter, Dan is a unique hunter because of his refusal to use firearms. Dan was also one of the three rangers of Colorado, Dan represented Tall Trees and Canada, Dan was the hunter of the group, wearing grass and snow ghillie suits to silently and unexpectedly take down elk, deer, even wolf and bear. Dan does this job every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. Importantly, Strider's most prized possession is: the Ring of Barahir, "Goranoon", a broken long sword that has been around for thousands of years and his trusty Indian dagger.

Early Life

Not much is known of Dan's past as he has no memory of his childhood. He was born in Manzanita Post and raised by a certain tribe from Tall Trees.

Story

Dan was taken in by Jerry Baines and nursed back to health.

Characteristics

Dan is described as being "quiet, trained and has a pair of piercing gray eyes." He mainly keeps to himself, not having any troubles with anybody in the ranch, he also likes to train so he is at his physical peak. He loves to hunt and he sells his animal skins to Manzanita Post or Jerry so that Dan can buy new arrows and accessories for training. He is very interested in dream catchers, Navajo culture etc.

Names & Titles

Dan was called the Dúnadan ("Man of the West") by the Natives of Canada, Longshanks or Stick-at-naught Strider (two of several derogatory titles given by Bill Ferny in Tumbleweed), Strider by Butterbur and the people of Bree.

Weapons

Dans skills in battle lay primarily in his bow craft. He was a mighty archer with the bow and easily defeated many types of foes, like large groups of Rebels, evident throughout various battles like the Dixie Rose and the Serendipity. In each case, Dans finesse in battle has served him greatly and earned him much recognition and respect from Johnny, Roger and the people of Colarado.

Natives vs Rebels

One year before Dan came to the ranch, he was involved in a gruelling battle between tribe High Wolf and Reyes' Rebels. The fight started when the Natives invaded the Rebel camp slaughtering hundreds of Rebels and setting the tents alight. During the battle Dan mainly used his bow, but when he got to Reyes' tent, he pulled out his tomahawk and tried to bury it in Reyes' head. Reyes reversed Dans attack and stabbed Harlow in the shoulder with a long thin bayonet, luckily Tonto, the tribe leaders son, ran in and shot Reyes with a bow in the leg. Dan was then taken back to camp and healed from his wounds.

Epilouge

Jodie, Dan and two Navajo warriors finally decide to take down Reyes and the rebels by ambushing the them in Tall Trees. As they got to the camp they realised that no one was in sight. Suddenly, the group were attacked by Reyes and the Rebels. The natives were murdered and Jodie and Dan we're taken hostage and tied up. Dan refused to speak and Reyes jabbed Dan in the left eye with a small screwdriver. After the Rebles left the tent, Jodie slipped through the ropes and got to her feet. She walked over to Dan and freed him aswell. As they were escaping, Dan picked up a pistol and fired at a cluster of dynamite crates blowing the Rebels up. Dan fell to the floor in pain as Jodie confronted the injured Reyes. Jodie grabbed Reyes and shoved the same screwdriver into Reyes' throat. She grabbed Dan and they both sat on the roadside, freezing, as they were stripped down to their vests. This conversation ensued:

Jodie: F***, I hate the cold... sorry about your eye.

Dan: Doesn't matter, at least Reyes is gone.

Dan: So you still mad at me?

Jodie: Yeah, I'm still mad at you.

Dan: We could die here. I just wanted to say... I love you, Jodie.

Jodie: *looks down*

Dan: So what about you?

Jodie: hmm?

Dan: Do... Do you love me?

Jodie:.... Yeah... I love you Dan.

They shared a passionate kiss and they both passed out. They woke up in a tent, wrapped up in layers of blankets. They had been rescued by Apache natives and taken in to be brought back to health. They soon bought a house together and they were now officially a couple.
